## Recruitment Overview

This recruitment is for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM) and Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)/Dak Sevak.

## Post Descriptions & Salary (TRCA)

Candidates selected will receive a Time Related Continuity Allowance (TRCA) plus Dearness Allowance.

• Branch Postmaster (BPM): Responsible for managing the affairs of the Branch Post Office, including India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) operations.

  • Salary Range: ₹12,000 – ₹29,380

• ABPM / Dak Sevak: Includes sale of stamps/stationery, delivery of mail, and assisting the BPM.

  • Salary Range: ₹10,000 – ₹24,470

## Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the GDS post, candidates must fulfill the following:

### 1. Educational Qualification

• Secondary School Examination: Must have passed 10th Standard with passing marks in Mathematics and English.

• Local Language: The candidate must have studied the local language of the applied circle at least up to the 10th standard.

• Other Skills: Knowledge of Cycling, Computer, and a source of livelihood are mandatory.

### 2. Age Limit

• Minimum: 18 Years

• Maximum: 40 Years

• Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, and 10 years for PwD.

## Selection Process (Merit-Based)

There is no written exam or interview for India Post GDS.

1. Automated Merit List: The system generates a list based on the marks obtained in the 10th Standard.

2. Conversion: For those with grades/points, marks are calculated using a multiplication factor (e.g., $GPA \times 9.5$).

3. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates are called for physical verification of original certificates.
